Pour the “starter” mix into a small bowl, add yeast and 50 ml of warm water, and mix well. Cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 20 minutes.

Pour the main mix from the paper bag into a deep bowl. Add the prepared starter, vanilla, 70 g (6–7 tbsp) of vegetable oil, 70 g (6–7 tbsp) of melted butter or margarine, and 200 ml of warm water. Mix thoroughly. Cover and leave in a warm place until the dough doubles in size.

Knead the dough, add rinsed raisins and candied fruits, and mix well.

Grease a baking pan and fill it halfway with the dough. Leave in a warm place until the dough rises to the edge of the pan.

Preheat the oven to 220–230 °C. Bake at 180–200 °C for 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
