Kutya is a traditional Ukrainian dish served at the beginning of the Holy Evening (Sviatvechir) meal. Traditionally, kutya is made from wheat with honey, poppy seeds, and raisins. Each ingredient has symbolic meaning: wheat symbolizes fertility, honey represents health, and poppy seeds stand for family prosperity.
The “Traditional Kutya” cooking set includes everything you need to prepare an exceptionally delicious kutya according to the traditional recipe!
Set includes:
1. Wheat groats “Poltava №1”
2. Poppy seed filling
3. Raisins
4. Flower honey

Rinse the wheat groats from the set, cover with plenty of fresh water, and lightly salt.
Simmer on low heat until cooked (about 40 minutes).
Drain and cool the cooked groats.
Pour 50 ml of boiling water over the poppy seed filling in a deep bowl and let steep for 15 minutes.
Rinse and dry the raisins.
Add the poppy filling, raisins, and honey (diluted in a small amount of warm water) to the cooked groats. Mix thoroughly.
